9:50 AM Utilising DevOps to Bring Siloed Teams Together and Enhance Productivity
To enable the ACT government to leverage data in making more informed policy decisions the Data and Analytics Centre built a cloud based data analytics platform. The 1st attempt to build a platform took 15 months, but after adopting a DevOps way of working an effective platform was produced in just 16 weeks. In this session Ole shares this journey:
- The initial situation which need be overcome: 4 siloes, many emails, confusion and very little progress
- How using two week sprints and DevOps brought siloed teams together and created a happier, more engaged workforce
- The importance of utilizing build automation to facilitate agility and reliability
